Wine Fundamentals

Learn the basic knowledge you would need to start your vinous journey! We shall cover the basics of assessing wine, describing its aroma and comparing it to other wines. Be informed on how different wines are produced and stories of the wine producers. Five different wines will be tasted. This is the course to do before intermediate level.

The experience includes:
Taste 5 different wines
Be introduced to the aromas of wine with the help of an aroma kit
Learn the basics to analyzing wines by smell and sight
Understand about the different types of wine and how wine is produced
Learn interesting facts about wine
Find out more about the story behind each wine.

Castelveder Franciacorta Brut, Italy
Riesling kabinett Schiefer Michelsberg 2014, Germany
Segni di Langa Pinot Nero 2014, Italy
Berte& Cordini Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Italy
Mustela Moscato d'Asti 2015, Italy

The course will be presented by Shalom Chin. He holds a Wine Spirit Education Trust Diploma, a Masters in Gastronomy from the University of Gastronomic Science and is a Certified Sommelier. He has done vintages in Australia, Austria and Italy and has been involved with the wine industry for 13 years.
